Context
uncensored-coder is a code generator that runs entirely on your computer: no cloud calls, no request limits, no data leaving the machine. Describe what you need and get the code.
What I built
A command-line tool that uses Ollama to run language models locally, such as deepseek-coder in its various sizes or codellama. It writes in several languages (Python, Bash, JavaScript, C++, SQL), highlights the code with line numbers and works both interactively and as a one-shot command.
Once the model is downloaded, internet isn’t needed anymore: handy when working offline, or when you’d rather not send what you’re writing to an outside service.
Technical choices
Python, with Rich for terminal output and Prompt Toolkit for the
interactive mode. Leaning on Ollama instead of writing inference from scratch
was deliberate: Ollama handles the model, I focus on how the tool is used.

Finished, the code is on GitHub: among my repositories, it’s the one that got the most attention.
